The Spanish beaches and marinas have earned this year 638 blue flags, which means 35 more flags than those obtained in 2011. That makes the best result Spain ever had in beach quality level, keeping the leadership among northern hemisphere countries.
The Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) has granted 3,774 flags worldwide. This quality award celebrates this year its 25th anniversary of checking standards of sanitation, health, safety, accessibility, information, rescue and first aids in waterside spots and facilities.
